The Names Women Approve Of...

By: John Patrick Adams

So I was chatting with one of my boys about Cardi B’s new CD…  For real, I can’t shake it…  This chic is a beast with spitting out lyrics and a woman who is strengthened by embracing the power of her truth… Good Job Cardi B (Like I know her)…  But I have to admit, she kinda took the power away from the world…  In several of her songs, she references herself as a “B.t.h”…  I don’t know if the “B” stands for it or not, but she doesn’t mind labeling herself as one and probably would give two ….. if anyone else chose to call her one…

So why were me and my boy talking about this? Well it’s because the “B” word to some women holds the same disrespect as the “N” word to African Americans…  But ladies, is it okay if you reference yourself as a “B.t.h”?  Is it okay if you reference your homegirls as a “B.t.h.”? Does referencing yourself as “I’m the B.t.h that will….”, empower you?   Why should men hold this word if you don’t?  What’s the difference in a man calling you one and you calling your homegirl one?

LADIES, I really need to hear from you…  Leave a comment below or on Facebook…  Do you approve of being referenced as or called a “B.t.h”?  Is it cool for your homegirls to jokingly call you one, but not your husband/boyfriend???  Spit on the mic, you go it…
