Mariah Carey Gets Devastating News

By: Carlos Harleaux

Mariah Carey has a lot to celebrate these days. She's been nominated (along with Missy Elliott) for the 2018 Songwriters Hall of Fame. Her 2001 album Glitter (which critics have dubbed as her worst ever) re-entered the iTunes album charts at #1 and she just released a new album, Caution. This is her 15th studio album to date. The project has been getting rave reviews and some have even called it her best work in years.

However, this week, she is poised to suffer a major upset with only about 50,000 in first week sales (including streaming numbers). This number falls just below the first week debut of her last studio album, Me. I Am Mariah....The Elusive Chanteuse. That project sold approximately 54,000 units in its first week in pure sales alone. Streaming numbers were not calculated at that time. Does this mean her star power has fizzled out? Should record sales even be counted as heavily for such a legendary artist?

Check out my thoughts on Caution, along with the review of Anderson .Paak's Oxnard below:
