Church History: Antioch was born in the heart of our Pastor, Norris Q. McGill, in 1996. Pastor McGill began by having weekly Bible Studies in the living room of his home. However, the ministry did not have its first Sunday service until September 1999. Under the direction of the Holy Spirit, on September 19, 1999, Pastor McGill held the first service of Antioch Christian Church and also preached his first sermon. The church service was held at Mockingbird Elementary School Cafeteria in Coppell, Texas. The majority of the attendees were friends and family. During the first service, one member united with the ministry through membership. Since 1999 until present, the ministry has grown to a membership of over 700 persons. The church currently holds services in The Las Colinas Tech Center in Irving, Texas, a facility soon to be owned by Antioch Christian Church. Since its inception the ministry has always had a strong emphasis on men, marriage and family. The word of God is the highest authority in our church. “We do not change the word to fit us; we change to line up with the word.” The scripture that inspired the name “Antioch” was derived from Acts 11:26, “And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.” The focus of this ministry is to Build People To Reflect Jesus. Teaching God’s word is paramount to believers living the abundant life that Jesus came to give us.
