African American Youth Leadership Summer Camp

The Ujamaa Events African American Youth Leadership Summer Camp will allow your child to experience all of the great African American cultural, historical and business successes throughout the Dallas Fort Worth area during their spring break.

Your child will visit the following Dallas institutions to empower them for future leadership in our community and the world:

African American Museum
The Black Academy of Arts and Letters (TBAAL)
Dallas Black Dance Theatre
Dallas Museum of Art - African exhibits
Freedman's Memorial
Griggs Park, one of Dallas' original Black communities in the Uptown Dallas Neighborhood
Juanita Craft Civil Rights House
Paul Quinn College


We will have a Science Technology Engineering Math (STEM) workshop, engaging speakers, interactive games, storytelling, and fun - ALL WEEK LONG!!!

Are there age requirements to attend the camp?

Our Spring Break Camp is open to students age 5 to 17

What time is the camp conducted? Are early drop off and late pick up options available?

Spring Break Camp hours are 9am to 4pm each day. Early drop off is between 8 and 9am. Late pick up is between 4 and 5pm.



What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Each day, parents and/or guardians will drop off and pickup their students at the TBAAL circular drive located on Canton Street. Transportaiton throughout the day will be provided by Ujamaa Events.

What can I bring into the event?

All students must bring snacks and lunch. Please leave tablets or any other toys or devices at home.
