When Takita Poe Found her 14-Year-Old Daughter in bed with a Boy, She Did THIS!

A 35-year-old Wisconsin woman faces felony charges after she attacked her daughter with a knife and wound up accidentally stabbing her daughter's friend. Takita Poe faces charges of substantial battery and first degree recklessly endangering safety.

Police responded to St. Micholas Hospital on Saturday, January 21st at around 4:30 a.m., after they found out a 12-year-old girl had been stabbed.

The girl told authorities she had been at her friend's home for a sleepover when Poe's 14-year-old daughter was found sleeping in bed with a 13-year-old boy. Poe became very upset when she found her daughter in bed with the boy and went to grab a knife.

Takita's teen daughter dodged out of the way when her mother attempted to stab her and ended up stabbing her child's 12-year-old friend in the wrist. The girls wrist would not stop bleeding so she called her mother who rushed her to the hospital.

The knife reportedly went all the way through the girl's arm and surgery was required to stop the bleeding. A surgeon reattached blood vessels to stop the bleeding and put in approximately 40 stitches to treat the wound.

A criminal complaint says the mom walked in her home on North 12th Street Saturday around 4:30am and found her 14-year-old daughter and a boy sleeping in her bed, along with her daughter's 12-year-old friend and another boy.

Police interviewed Poe and she stated that when she arrived home from work and found two boys in her home that she “snapped.” She admitted that she started swinging the knife towards her daughter.

Takita said her daughter was “disrespectful for having boys in her house and her bed.” Poe said her daughter’s friend was “accidentally” stabbed as she tried to stab her daughter.

Poe made her initial appearance in court in this case on January 23rd. Cash bond was set at $2,500 and she was ordered to have no contact with the victim.

She’ll be in court for her preliminary hearing on February 1st. If convicted, Takita could face 15 years in jail.
