Beyoncé Just Got Real About Twins' Scary Birth, Marriage Issues & Her 'Little FUPA' In Rare Interview
Beyoncé’s long-awaited September Vogue cover has arrived!

In her interview with the magazine, the 36-year-old revealed she shares the same experiences that everyday women her age have as she talks insecurities about her own body, marriage trouble to Jay-Z, and her feelings about motherhood.

The historically private singer gave a clear view into her personal life in an article called, “Beyoncé in Her Own Words: Her Life, Her Body, Her Heritage.”

Ms. Knowles-Carter got full editorial control over the issue and made history by selecting the first African-American photographer to shoot the cover of the prestigious magazine - 23-year-old artist Tyler Mitchell.

"Until there is a mosaic of perspectives coming from different ethnicities behind the lens, we will continue to have a narrow approach and view of what the world actually looks like," she wrote of her choice to use Mitchell's eye.

As for the idea behind the shoot, Beyoncé wanted to celebrate her natural body and fuller figure after giving birth to the Carter Twins, Rumi and Sir. "I think it’s important for women and men to see and appreciate the beauty in their natural bodies," she said. "That’s why I stripped away the wigs and hair extensions and used little makeup for this shoot."

Queen Bey went into details about “complications” that followed the birth of Sir and Rumi.

“I was 218 pounds the day I gave birth to Rumi and Sir. I was swollen from toxemia and had been on bed rest for over a month,” she explained. “My health and my babies’ health were in danger, so I had an emergency C-section. We spent many weeks in the NICU,” Beyoncé revealed.

After the birth Rumi & Sir, the 36-year-old decided that she wasn’t going to put pressure on herself to regain her prior body shape as she did five years earlier after Blue Ivy.

“To this day my arms, shoulders, breasts, and thighs are fuller. I have a little mommy pouch, and I’m in no rush to get rid of it. I think it’s real,” she said. “Whenever I’m ready to get a six-pack, I will go into a beast zone and work my [behind] off until I have it. But right now, my little FUPA and I feel like we are meant to be.”

She then revealed how a secret in her ancestry saved her marriage to Jay-Z and blessed her with the twins.

"I researched my ancestry recently and learned that I come from a slave owner who fell in love with and married a slave. I had to process that revelation over time," the Houston-native says. "I questioned what it meant and tried to put it into perspective. I now believe it’s why God blessed me with my twins. Male and female energy was able to coexist and grow in my blood for the first time. I pray that I am able to break the generational curses in my family and that my children will have less complicated lives."

In another section, Beyoncé talks about the artists who paved the way for her, and says she assumes that same responsibility for future generations.

"Imagine if someone hadn’t given a chance to the brilliant women who came before me: Josephine Baker, Nina Simone, Eartha Kitt, Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, Diana Ross, Whitney Houston, and the list goes on," she said. They opened the doors for me, and I pray that I’m doing all I can to open doors for the next generation of talents."

The Beyoncé issue will be her fourth time she's been the cover girl for Vogue since 2009.
