Bobby Brown Files Lawsuit Against TV One To Stop Bobbi Kristina Biopic From Airing

Bobby Brown has a major problem with the upcoming TV One biopic about the life and tragic death of his daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown.

The singer has filed a lawsuit to prevent the release of the made-for-TV movie.

The biopic was set to premiere on Sunday, Oct. 8 on TV One, but Brown is trying to put a stop to that! In legal documents, Bobby claims that TV One "knowingly and maliciously" used his persona and life in the movie and promotion of the film.

Brown claims the biopic "contains defamatory and untrue depictions" of him "being violent" towards his late ex-wife, Whitney Houston.

Brown's lawsuit also states that the biopic "contains defamatory untrue depictions" of Bobby and Bobbi Kristina's relationship, with scenes "suggesting" that Bobby "does not love his daughter."
Brown also claims that the movie used information they obtained from his former show, "Being Bobby Brown" without his permission. Bobby is seeking to keep the biopic from airing and is also seeking over $1 million in damages.

The biopic in question will focus on the life and tragic death of Bobbi Kristina Brown, the only child of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown.

The trailer for the upcoming biopic shows Bobbi struggling with growing up in the shadow of her famous mother, as well as her volatile relationship with Nick Gordon.

"Stuck in the Middle" star Joy Rovaris plays the role of Bobbi, while "Grown Up" star Nadji Jeter plays the role of her boyfriend Nick Gordon.

Demetria McKinney of "Real Housewives of Atlanta" stars as the late Whitney Houston. Bobby Brown is portrayed by "The Wire" star Hassan Johnson.

TV One appears to be going forward with airing the movie, according to the New York Post. The network also stands by the way they told the story of Bobbi Kristina's life in the movie.

TV One has responded to Bobby's lawsuit in a statement. They said, "We are aware of the reported legal challenge by Bobby Brown regarding the film Bobbi Kristina and are taking appropriate steps on behalf of our network to respond. While we are not able to address our legal response at this time, we stand by the film and its representation of this period in Bobbi Kristina's life."
