Cardi B…a feminist icon in the making?

Maybe!

The reality star/rapper recently landed an exclusive interview with Cosmopolitan.

One of her biggest bones to pick right now is the fact that strippers and other women who use their sexuality are not respected in the world (Cardi used to work as a stripper, so she knows what she is talking about).

In the era of the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements that took the entertainment world by storm over the last year or so, she believes that society still treats these working women unfairly.
According to Cardi, instances of sexual assault are common for aspiring video girls, but nobody acknowledges them with the same fervor that's used to stand up for "regular" actresses and models.

“A lot of video vixens have spoke about this and nobody gives a [expletive],” she shared.

She’s not wrong.

“When I was trying to be a vixen, people were like, ‘You want to be on the cover of this magazine?’ Then they pull their [Penis] out."

Ugh. Unfortunately, we believe it.
@cosmopolitan April issue
"These producers and directors, they’re not woke, they’re scared", she also declared.

Indeed!

More of this, Cardi.

That wasn’t all.

"People say, ‘Why do you always got to say that you used to be a stripper? We get it.’ Because y’all don't respect me because of it, and y’all going to respect these strippers from now on. "Just because somebody was a stripper don't mean they don't have no brain."

Soooo accurate.
Plus, Cardi dished about her relationship (blah, hard pass) with Offset.

“It’s like everybody is coming down my neck like, ‘Why are you not leaving him? You have low self-esteem.’ I don’t have low self-esteem… I know I look good. I know I’m rich, I know I'm talented. I know I could get any man I want -- any basketball player, football player. But I want to work out my [stuff] with my man, and I don’t got to explain why."
REAL relationship Not Relationship goals .Happy V-day my love ❤️ily ,I don’t know how we deal with each other, we both crazy 😂😩😩
"I’m not your property. This is my life. I’m going to take my time, and I'm going to decide on my decision… It’s not right, what he [expletive] did, but people don’t know what I did, ‘cause I ain’t no angel."

That is…actually kind of an interesting angle?
I ain’t know it went 5X platinum ...This record will always be my wittle baby ✌🏽

A few last words of wisdom for the road…

"Everybody got different beliefs and different religions and were raised differently, yet you also supposed to be careful you don’t offend somebody. Everybody got a [expletive] opinion about you. If I change myself, then I’m going to lose myself, and I won’t be who makes me happy."

That’s right!! I’m still Balexa!! What’s good??!!! #AskAlexa #ad
