RIP: Dave Chappelle Pays Tribute to Charlie Murphy [VIDEO]
Dave Chappelle went on stage at a John Mayer concert to speak about the recently departed Charlie Murphy. The concert was held in Columbus, Ohio. Ohio is Dave's home state.

At the show, Chappelle talked about his friendship with Charlie. The death of this great comedy impacted so many people in the entertainment community. Dave asked John to play a special rendition of “You’re Gonna Live In Me Forever” because it reminded him of Charlie.

Before John began playing, Dave asked the audience to take pictures or videos. It's obvious that someone disobeyed the popular comedian since there's video footage of the whole tribute.

Take a look at the video below:

John Mayer is a friend to Dave and Charlie, appearing on the "The Chappelle Show". He appeared in a skit called "White People Dancing", which was very popular. Though the show’s most popular skits were the ones with Dave and Charlie, acting out stories of Charlie’s memories hanging out with Hollywood stars.
Charlie passed away on Wednesday, April 12. He died at the age of 57 from Leukemia. Everyone was shocked because it seemed like he was getting better, especially after chemotherapy.

Charlie Murphy was a writer, actor, and comedian. He had been working in the film industry since the late 80s. He didn’t become famous until he appeared on “The Chappelle Show, which was his first job in comedy. Charlie’s stories about his Hollywood escapades with stars like Rick James and Prince were popular amongst the show’s fans. Especially, since the show reached audiences in markets other than the African American community.

Besides Dave, Chris Rock, Mike, Epps, Cedric the Entertainer, D.L. Hughley have also shared their thoughts and memories of Charlie. Rapper Snoop Dogg has also posted a tribute online to Charlie, who he calls a friend. Charlie's brother, Eddie Murphy has made statements about how he will miss Charlie.
