DMX Headed Back To Prison Over Bail Violations?
Rapper DMX, who was charged with 14 counts of tax fraud and accused of hiding millions in earnings, may be headed back to prison for violating the conditions of his bail.

DMX, whose legal name is Earl Simmons, pleaded not guilty on July 14 to evading $1.7 million in income taxes.

Simmons was released from jail on a $500,000 bond and his travel was limited to the New York area. A judge later ruled that the rapper could travel for work, as long as he obtained permission.

Manhattan federal judge Jed Rakoff stated on Wednesday that he received word that the rapper had been violating the conditions of his bail.

The order read, "The court has received a report from pretrial services indicating that the defendant may have violated the terms of his pretrial release in numerous respects."

Rakoff ordered Simmons to appear in his courtroom on Friday, where he will face the music over his actions.

"The defendant as well as his counsel and government counsel must appear," the order stated.

Murray “Don’t Worry Murray” Richman, the attorney for DMX, revealed his client traveled to St. Louis last month without permission from the court’s probation officers.

Richman claims Simmons simply forgot to obtain permission because he was preoccupied with the trip.

"He went to St. Louis without getting permission from the pretrial services officer," Richman said. "It was for a personal situation with regard to the lady he's living with."

Richman vows to fight to keep DMX out of jail. He said, "I'm concerned about his well-being."

DMX was arrested on 14 counts of tax fraud back in July. In addition to being charged over tax evasion and failure to file tax returns, DMX is accused of trying to conceal his true income, telling a bankruptcy court that his income was unknown for the years 2011 and 2012. He reportedly told them he only raked in $10,000 in 2013.

According to TMZ, #DMX is out on bail on his ongoing tax evasion case. The Ruff Ryder is facing 14 counts of evading over $1 million in taxes. According to sources, the rapper failed to mention that he was heading to St. Louis, MO to see his family which violated his probation conditions. 👀🚧👀 #streetzmorningtakeover #streetz945atl

DMX is being accused of "maintaining a cash lifestyle, avoiding the use of a personal bank account, and using the bank accounts of nominees, including his business managers, to pay personal expenses."

A statement from the justice department described the situation as a "multi-year scheme." If the rapper is found guilty and given the maximum sentence, he could be facing 44 years behind bars.

U.S. Attorney Joon Kim said in a statement, "For years, Earl Simmons, the recording artist and performer known as DMX, made millions from his chart-topping songs, concert performances and television shows. But while raking in millions from his songs, including his 2003 hit ‘X Gon’ Give it to Ya,’ DMX didn’t give any of it to the IRS. Far from it, DMX allegedly went out of his way to evade taxes, including by avoiding personal bank accounts, setting up accounts in other’s names and paying personal expenses largely in cash.

"He even allegedly refused to tape the television show ‘Celebrity Couples Therapy’ until a properly issued check he was issued was reissued without withholding any taxes. Celebrity rapper or not, all Americans must pay their taxes, and together with our partners at the IRS, we will pursue those who deliberately and criminally evade this basic obligation of citizenship."
