Janet Jackson Was And Still Is Being Abused By Estranged Husband, According To Her Brother Randy

Janet Jackson's brother, Randy Jackson, has come forward to reveal that his sister was verbally abused during her marriage to Wissam Al Mana. Randy has been supporting the singer since she filed for divorce from the Qatari billionaire.

In a new interview, Randy claims Janet was verbally abused during her pregnancy. He stated that his sister was degraded and "called a [expletive] everyday."

Jackson married Al Mana in 2012 and the singer gave birth to their son, Eissa, on January 3.

"It was quite an abusive situation," Randy said of his sister's relationship to Al Mana. He adds that the abuse never escalated to physical abuse, but he still felt the need to intervene.

"I told her, 'You've got to move in with me or I'm going to go over there and there's going to be [expletive].' She was really [expletive] off. I told her, 'I don't care anymore. I'm tired of it. It's too much.'"

Randy stated that things in his sister's relationship changed over time. He said, "It came on later in the relationship, verbal abuse and being [like] a prisoner in her own home. That's what she went through. There's a lot of pain. Janet's been through a lot with her divorce. I've been through a lot, we all have."

Randy was by Janet's side when she shared a video to Twitter announcing her split from Al Mana. In the video shared in May, she said, "I just want to keep it real with you guys for a second. Yes, I separated from my husband, we are in court and the rest is in God's hands."

Randy has shown support for Janet during her divorce hearings, adding that their mother Katherine and their sister Rebbie had also flown out to London to be there for the singer.

Randy adds that he tried to keep the drama of Janet's marriage quiet to their elderly parents. "I didn't want them to know. My parents are up there in age so I wanted to protect them as much as possible, but now they know," Randy stated.

Al Mana's spokesperson has issued a statement following Randy's recent interview. The statement read, "Mr. Al Mana is not going to dignify these particular and deeply hurtful allegations with a response. The breakdown of his marriage to Janet Jackson is a cause of great sadness to Mr Al Mana, and it is the well-being and privacy of their son, Eissa, that remains his sole focus."

Janet has been dealing with an emotional roller-coaster following her marital split. The singer broke down into tears onstage while performing the abuse track, "What About" recently.

The song, featured on her 1997 album The Velvet Rope, was performed with her back-up dancers playing out abuse scenes. Janet was overcome with emotion as she told the crowd, "This is me."

Randy said of his sister's emotional state, "What you saw in Houston, it was her situation coming out, what she’s been going through." He adds that "the abuse is still going on."

The former couple are still in contact due to co-parenting their son, Eissa. Randy shared, "She has custody and he of course allowed her to bring the baby on tour, but it’s constant harassment. This tour almost didn’t happen, but by the grace of God we’re here and we’re very prayerful."

Randy explained his decision to come forward on the abuse his sister has suffered. He explained, "It’s not about anger or vengeance."

He adds, "We don’t like to put our business out there but sometimes transparency helps you. The devil thrives in darkness. I’m just here supporting her through this time."

Janet recently resumed her tour after welcoming her son in January. She had postponed her Unbreakable World Tour in April 2016 to start her family.
