Here's How Jay Ellis Reacted To News He Won't Be Back For The Next Season Of 'Insecure'
The Lawrence-hive is still wiping their tears over reports that Lawrence will not be appearing in season three of Insecure

Now that the news is official and out, Jay Ellis (who, of course, played the character on the smash HBO series) is chiming in on the revelation.

The talented actor recently broke his silence and the way he did so is really emotion-evoking.

Jay popped onto to Instagram to share a photo of him Photoshopped along with the cast at the Insecure Fest last weekend.

"Heard I missed something last weekend... fixed it," he captioned the doctored photo.

Take a look, below:

Aww! That is honestly so adorable. And kind of sad, no?

Issa Rae previously opened up about the decision during the third annual Insecure Fest in Los Angeles, saying, "No, I don't care! [...] We want to stay as true to life as possible. They had a great conversation at the end of season two and it was just about like, hey, she's moving on Daniel, sometimes we have those conversations. You never see the exes again. And it's OK! You gotta explore life without Lawrence."

"At the end of the day, we're always trying to tell stories that are true and authentic," showrunner Prentice Penny also explained. "We were in the writers room and we were initially talking about, 'OK, well what is he doing?' Well, he's not in her life right now. It was hard to make stories around that... We just said, 'Well, if he's not around, he's not around.' Let's just deal with the reality of what her life is now. Let's be true to that. When you breakup and you have closure."

Ellis actually hinted that Lawrence was out during an interview with Angie Martinez months ago.

"I'm a little bit out of it," he had confessed. "I'm not really... They've been filming for the last six or seven weeks or something like that."

"I don't know if there is a relationship," he noted, of his character and Issa's. "There was closure at the end. There was like, full closure."

"I don't know. I honestly, truly don't know," he had also shared. "I might get a call tomorrow and they gonna be like, 'Ay, can you come do this?' And I'll be like, 'Yeah, I'll be there.'"

Guess it was not to be.
Glowing up ain’t easy. Make sure to tune in for #InsecureHBO Season 3 Sunday, August 12 on @HBO.
