Jennifer Hudson Has Been Engaged For Seven Years — When’s She Getting Married? (VIDEO)

Have you ever asked yourself just how serious is marriage? When does the line drawn between just dating and marriage get erased? When do you have the conversation with yourself saying “I love myself enough to share that love with another human being for the rest of their and my existence? Jennifer Hudson isn’t like every other celebrity getting married for all of the wrong reasons. No, she doesn’t let the chatter of her single or married peers perspective of a “marriage time-frame” shake what she knows or feels in her heart. Seven years is a long time dealing with anything, and that’s just how long she has been engaged. David Otunga, a Harvard degree holder, is the lucky fellow who has won the ultra talented singer’s heart. They also have a beautiful son together, which is all the more puzzling as to what exactly is going on with this seven year engagement.

Since this seems to be something everyone was asking, Wendy Williams did the honors and attempted to pry the pearl from the clam on just how its possible to be engaged that long and still not have definitive conclusions about marriage.

The interview follows:

“You’ve been wearing that ring and engaged for six years … so when are you and big David going to be getting married?”

Not putting on any façade for television and without hesitation she delivered her response:

“Well the ring is still there and we will get married one day but again, my thing is, once I get married, I don’t believe in divorce. And so when I get married, it’s for good, OK? We want to be completely sure we’re together and we’re happy.”

Wendy not satisfied with the initial response, she went on to ask:

“You have a baby and you’ve been together forever! And hello, he’s got a Harvard degree, who wouldn’t want to stay?”

Jennifer, putting the investigation to rest basically stated marriage is serious business and “You ain’t gotta understand it,”she said.
Noticing how formidable Jennifer was,

“When it happens, it happens,” was wendy’s retort. Leaving us with a new precedent and plateau to reach for when truly getting a grasp on what exactly does marriage mean in this day and age.
