"Empire" Star Jussie Smollett Lashes Out At Social Media Troll: Defends DeRay McKesson

Jussie Smollett, who fans know for his role as Jamal Lyon on the hit FOX television show "Empire", is a great actor and also is an activist.

Smollett is known for being a kind-hearted guy, but he will put a bi*ch in their place if needed. He recently spent time with activist and former Baltimore Mayor hopeful DeRay McKesson, who are both involved in the #BLackLivesMatter movement.

DeRay and Jussie shared a photo on Instagram, with McKesson captioning the photo, "@JussieSmollett, you're hilarious & it was great to hang yesterday and talk blackness, freedom, & the work."

Smollett agreed adding in his caption, "Always such a joy my brother. We also talked about how furbies are gay gremlins..."

A Twitter troll decided to make a rude comment, suggesting the two men had engaged in a sexual act. The man tweeted, "degay just sucked that guy off."

Smollett could have just ignored the idiotic comment, but decided instead to clapback with an awesome comment.  Jussie not only insulted the man, but also brought the Twitter troll's father into the conversation.

The "Empire" star defended his friend DeRay by writing to the troll, "Ya daddy did right after I dropped @Deray off. Gotta hit him and make sure his throat is ok."

Smollett previously had fans of "Empire" going crazy when he joked about leaving the popular show. The actor took to Twitter to write, "I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time w/ @EmpireFOX. I love you all. Truth. Time 2 make a record & some movies. #Empire."
Fans began retweeting the message and some got a little upset. Days later, Jussie revealed the little prank got a bit serious.

He later said, " I was thinking my little core group of amazing fans would be like, ‘What?' But it just went so much further. There were calls about it, and [Series creator] Lee (Daniels) was getting death threats about it."

Smollet's post was taken very seriously by “Empire” fans that had just watched the episode where his character Jamal had been shot in the stomach and was rushed to the hospital.
