Kendu Isaacs Explains Why It's Mary J. Blige's Fault He Needs More Spousal Support From Her
Kendu Isaacs is accusing Mary J. Blige of using their failed marriage for profit and her ex-husband believes he is entitled to additional spousal support from the singer.

Blige announced her divorce from Isaacs in the summer of 2016 after 12 years of marriage. The singer was vocal about Kendu trying to go after her hard-earned money.

A year after their split was announced, a judge ordered Mary to pay Kendu $30,000 a month in spousal support. However, Kendu had originally requested $130,000 a month from the Grammy-winning singer.

The spousal support to her ex-husband and former manager went towards paying for his wardrobe, vacations, private chef and personal trainer. However, Isaacs still doesn't feel that amount is enough.

Mary opened up about her failed marriage and messy split on her hit 2017 album, Strength of a Woman. Kendu apparently believes he should receive a cut of the money from the album.

Isaacs is claiming that Blige’s disparaging public remarks about him, as well as the lyrics about him in her songs - "Set Me Free" and "Love Yourself" - have affected his ability to find work.

In Blige's track, "Set Me Free", she sings, "And how you fix your mouth to say I owe you/When you had another [expletive] and taking trips and [expletive]/With my money for so long/You must have lost it, [expletive], you won’t get a dime/But all you’re gonna get, too bad, I can’t get back my time."

Blige has been open about her personal life and her ex-husband's alleged affair. She has even referred to Kendu as a "con artist" for going after more money.

The singer told Variety previously, "I’m doing OK. I’m living. I’m not happy about a lot of things. I thought someone loved me, right? Turns out, he was a con artist and he didn’t, and now he’s coming after me for all my money."

Kendi is claiming in legal documents that he has been unemployed since the divorce was filed and has been unable to find a job.

Isaacs referred to songs about their failed marriage on his ex-wife's new album, which have become known as "divorce songs." He believes these songs led to her successful year and thinks the singer should pay him more spousal support.

Isaacs states in court documents that he is living in a 1,400 sq. ft. apartment in Los Angeles after leaving their $8 million marital home.

Mary's ex-husband is now asking for over double the amount she currently pays him each month. He claims he needs $65,000 a month in spousal support.

Kendu thinks that should not be a problem for Mary, claiming she has $275,476 a month available for support payments.
