Kevin Gates Has Officially Been Released From Prison After 9 Months — See Terms Of His Release
Kevin Gates was released from prison after all!

According to state prison records, he is out, after serving nine months in an Illinois state prison.

Interesting! Because he was actually charged with 30 months, right?

Pitchfork says that January 10 is listed on records as his projected parole date. He also his return via Instagram, scrubbing his account clean…except for an interesting new post.

Sharing a picture with the text "I'm Him" written across the center, Gates bottled up his frustration, elation and determination after his release and expressed it wonderfully with this post. His #FreeKevinGates social media followers have been hitting up his comments section with joy and posting plenty of "welcome home" or "welcome back" wishes dotting this return to social media and the free world.

Check it out below:

The Illinois Department of Correction’s Lindsay Hess recently told TMZ that this was in the cards. The terms of his release conditions include “mandatory supervision and no possession of firearms.”

He has claimed he acted in self-defense, as the woman apparently tried to grab at his shorts multiple times, in an attempt to pull him into the crowd.

Kevin was captured on a cellphone video kicking 19-year-old Miranda Dixon at Lakeland's Rumors Nightclub. She confessed that she tugged on his pants twice to “get his attention” for her friend. Miranda testified that after the second time, the rapper kicked her so hard that she fell backwards and then passed out.

He was sentenced to 180 days in jail for the assault in Florida. He was almost released in March of last year, but was reportedly re-arrested once it was discovered that he had an outstanding weapons-related warrant.

His attorney, Herschel Rush, explained to TMZ that Kevin plans to “devote considerable time and resources talking to troubled teens and sharing anecdotes from his own life in hopes they'll avoid the same pitfalls.”

That’s super great! Can’t wait to see what he makes of 2018.
He actually penned an inspiring note to his supporters and fans when he was still behind bars, which read, "Dear loyal fans, Disallow yourselves to be troubled in my time of absence. All of the great ones who came before and will come after me: Have had to go through this. By this I am speaking in reference to hardship. A great person is measured by all of the great test they can undergo and still remain to to who they are. What that being said, 'I'm him.' I love you all. In closing I remain the same. Forever, Kevin Gates."

Welcome back, Kevin!
