Will Kevin Gates Be Getting Out Of Jail Anytime Soon?
Kevin Gates just can't catch a break!

The rapper has reportedly been denied bail by an Illinois judge and remains in jail on weapons charges.

Gates attended a bond hearing on Wednesday (April 19) at the Bridgeview Courthouse in Illinois, hoping to be able to post bail and be released from jail.

The judge denied his bond, although it's not clear why the request was denied. Gates remains in the Kendall County Jail.

This is just the latest bad news for Gates. The rapper, whose real name is Kevin Gilyard, was scheduled to be released from jail on March 24, after completing five months of a six-month sentence for kicking a female fan at a concert in 2015. However, that never came to pass.

Gates was being processed for release from Polk County Jail in Florida when they discovered he had an outstanding weapons-related warrant and he was placed back in his cell. Gates was then released to travel to Illinois, where he turned himself in to police in Cook County on March 29.

Last month, Kevin's wife Dreka addressed the bad news and asked for the support of her husband's fans.

Dreka wrote, "To everyone that’s rooting for Kevin right now, THANK YOU, but PLEASE shift your thoughts, prayers, energy, etc. towards the idea of Kevin being home and enjoying life as a free man. Do NOT dwell on the things that have been put out by the media. Their only goal in anything is to grab/seek attention, not necessarily to release information that is FACTUAL.”

Gates' legal woes kicked off in 2015 when he kicked a female fan during his concert in Florida. The 18-year-old woman, Miranda Dixon, admitted to having tugged on Gates' pants during the concert at Rumor's Nite Club on Aug. 28, 2015. She said during the trail, "I was trying to get his attention for my friend."

The judge sentenced Gates to 180 days in Polk County jail, with credit for any time served, and fines and court costs. He was convicted by a jury of six women after one day of testimony.

There are no details on upcoming court dates for the rapper following Wednesday's bond hearing.
