When you’re rich and famous you can pretty much buy whatever your heart desires; and for many celebrities what they desire most are palatial pads to rest their heads. Take a look at these lavish mansions owned by some of our favourite black celebrities. 

Beyoncé and Jay-Z-$45 Million
When you’re hip-hop royalty like Beyoncé and Jay Z, purchasing a home worth 45 million dollars is probably not a big deal, but for most of us, that’s A LOT of money. The renaissance style, Malibu mansion that was recently owned by Cher has nine bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a theatre, pool, tennis court, and guesthouse and is over 13,000 square-feet in size.

Eddie Murphy- $30 Million 
Actor and comedian Eddie Murphy actually made history when he bought this 30 million dollar, 2.5 acre, brick estate back in 2007. It was the most expensive property sold in California at the time; it features tennis and basketball courts, gym, spa, 10-car garage, 14 bathrooms, 10 bedrooms, a game room and a pool. The home also boasts marble fireplaces, a bowling alley and a host of other amenities.

Russell Simmons-$23 Million
The Def Jam co-founder’s former New Jersey home was worth a whopping 23 million dollars and rests on 35,000 square feet. The lavish amenities include a mediation room, gym, movie theatre, 12 bathrooms and 10 bedrooms.   The entrepreneur occupied the home with his then wife, Kimora Lee- Simmons, but was put up for sale after their divorce. 

Rihanna- $22 Million 
The Caribbean beauty shelled out a whopping 22 million dollars to buy a stunning villa in her hometown of Barbados. The private oasis, which overlooks the Caribbean Sea, boasts five bedrooms, outdoor infinity pool, spa, gym, tennis court, and 24-hour concierge and service staff. The property also has access to a private beach, and golf course.

Lil Wayne-$18 Million 
This rapper’s 18 million dollar Miami Beach house has all the amenities that money can buy. This 15 thousand square-feet property has a three-car garage, rooftop balcony, nine bedrooms and nine bathrooms. However, the most impressive of all is the 30 million dollar worth of art that Lil Wayne reportedly has inside the home. 

John Legend-$14 Million
This magnificent Beverly Hills pad once belonged to Rihanna, but is now owned by John Legend and his wife, Chrissy Tiegen. It has a pool, cinema, gym, library, eight bathrooms, five bedrooms, and floor-to-ceiling windows to give them a better view of the ocean. 

Oprah Winfrey-$14 Million 
The former talk show queen has a large personality and a large mansion to match, and to say this house is unique would be an understatement. This ski retreat is located in the Colorado hills, and is referred to as a ‘high-tech’ treehouse. The house has a heated driveway, theatre room, wine cellar designed to look like a mine shaft, A $150,000 fibre optic glass hallway that changes color, and automated house systems that Oprah can control from anywhere in the world.

Drake - $7.7 Million 
When Drake isn't touring the world, or spending time with his rumoured girlfriend Rihanna, he’s here at this amazing Hidden Hills mansion. The 7.7 million dollar bachelor pad, known as Lion Manor has all the amenities a celeb could ever need; tennis court, game room, 24-seat theatre, wine cellar, nine bathrooms, seven bedrooms and a grotto-just to name a few.
