So Unfair! After checking into prison, Mendeecees receives the unfortunate word that he will…

"Love & Hip Hop" Star Mendeecees Not Allowed To Watch Reality Show In Prison

Imprisoned "Love & Hip Hop" Star, Mendeecees, will not be allowed to watch his family starring on the reality show in jail. The reality star, husband to Yandy Smith, is serving over eight years on drug trafficking charges.

The reality star pleaded guilty to a crime in April and was sentenced to service just over eight years in prison.

Mendeecees Harris was probably hoping he would be able to see his family starring on television during his prison sentence, but that won't be happening.

The 37-year-old father of four turned himself in on January 19 to the Allenwood correctional facility to begin his 96-month term.  The prison is almost four hours away from his wife and children and at least being able to see his families faces on screen would have been a consolation. But the prison does not offer the cable network.

It is prison so it's not supposed to be a luxurious lifestyle! But, Mendeecees will reportedly still have access to regular television and a decent menu.

A source said breakfast is milk, oatmeal, and fruit, lunch is baked chicken, potatoes, and collard greens. Dinner is spaghetti with meat sauce and spinach. That sounds better than some of us not in jail eat!

Mendeecees said his emotional goodbye to his wife Yandy and his children before heading off to serve his time. The moment was caught on film for "Love and Hip Hop."

Harris was sentenced to 8 years for drug trafficking charges. He'll do his time in a minimum security prison. He's already served 15 months for his crime, so he actually has less than 7 years left to serve.
During his hearing in April, Mendeecees entered into a plea agreement, which included up to eight to ten years in jail and/or a fine that could potentially reach $5 million for his part in a ten year trafficking ring that brought millions of dollars worth of cocaine and heroin into upstate New York.

Mendeecees was freed on $600,000 bail in the spring after over a year in prison. He turned over more than $103,000.00 in VH1 earnings to the government for restitution.
