LL Cool J Speaks Out After Former ‘In The House’ Co-Star Maia Campbell Refuses His Help
The other day LL Cool J asked his social media base to pass along Maia Campbell’s contact info after an upsetting video of her begging for drugs at a gas station made the rounds.

Maia has since decided to share a clip of herself saying that she is fine and urging him not to contact her. It was pretty rough actually.

She thanks Todd — LL Cool J’s real name is James Todd Smith — for his concern before saying that she doesn’t need help, she needs a bank account for mental health. At least we think that is what she is saying? It’s kind of hard to understand since she keeps covering her mouth, right?

She also states that she has investments and that she temps at the [barber] shop where the video is being filmed.

Maia then basically tells LL not to get in touch with her; she says that she is on Instagram, but that she doesn’t want it [the intervention] to do down, so “don’t DM” her. Yikes.

When Darryl (the guy filming the video) pushed for a serious response from Maia, she incoherently said, "I don't know. Pray to God... that I don't start rapping. Oops!"

Watch the clip below:

Well, what did LL think of her not-very-reassuring response? Probably what most people in his position would think, honestly…

He took to Twitter to post his thoughts, writing, “You can't help someone who doesn't want your help.”

Truer words were never spoken.
The good news is that Maia is now at home after being held at a Dekalb County jail for a mental health evaluation. At least that is what a reader submission (complete with a video clip) on Fameolous is claiming:

“It’s been a hectic negotiating day, It’s not easy Maia Campbell is being held by Dekalb County for evaluation while her family and intervention team can find a way. She’s safe for tonight. Thank you for all the inbox and support I’ll do it from my heart I also have children and I pray if the going through someone stand with them like a angel on a mission. There’s no shame just be loving and present and listen to the dynamic of the story. We all have them some hidden some obvious but none is perfect especially with mental illness is real. Love your children and love one. Stop glamorizing negative behavior and expecting more but when we get what we painted embrace it too. God is love Intervention is caring. No one is famous but we all are human so imperfect.”

Again, we are really rooting for her to get this all sorted out. You can do it, Maia!
