Mary J. Blige Bares It All About ‘Unfair’ Divorce from Kendu Issacs On Stage
Mary J. Blige has always been known as an artist who is not afraid to pour out her soul and emotions into her music. It’s something that has always made her music powerful, while also making her feelings relatable to her fans.

This past weekend, Mary J decided to open up while hitting the stage. During her performance at the Essence Fest, the artist spoke about her divorce from her estranged husband, Kendu Issacs.

According to Blige, her ex-husband’s alleged extramarital affairs were what led to the end of their marriage. As the singer became more candid about her relationship while on stage at the New Orleans Mercedez-Benz Superdome, she revealed that Issacs not only cheated, but even went as far as to compare her to other women.

“You can’t have two queens!” advised the Queen of Hip Hop Soul while addressing the men of the audience. “For me ladies, I’m a little crazy, maybe a lot, but I’m more selfish with my relationships.” Said Blige while addressing the women of the audience. “And I will not appreciate my man coming home comparing me to Suzy on the job. Don’t ever compare me to nobody, because there’s only one Mary J. Blige!”

During her performance, Mary J. Blige even opened up about how she feels about having to pay child support to her ex-husband. “How is it that somebody gets to cheat and destroy everybody’s life but I’ve got to pay for it? That aint fair!” said Blige on stage.
Last month, Mary J. was ordered to pay Issacs $30,000 a month in temporary child support, although he originally asked for $100,000 a month. It was also alleged that during their marriage, Issacs had an extramarital affair with an up-and-coming artist named Starshell.

After the performance, Issacs shared his own feelings. “I love you to death Mary J. Blige.” said Issacs on Instagram. “I can’t even begin to understand why you are going on about this the way you have been.”
