Report: Mother Who Left Baby In Hot Car To Get Her Hair Did Told Stylist She Was "In No Rush"

You know by now that this means that you are in for a horrible update, right? Right.

Let’s power through as a team.

More details are coming out about that mother who fatally left her one-year-old daughter in a hot car for hours while she got her hair done. It’s still super depressing, folks.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, DiJanelle Etta Fowler has been denied bond after being charged with second-degree murder, child cruelty and concealing a death. Now, even more heartbreaking information has popped up.

The newspaper is reporting that she told her hairstylist that she was in “no rush” to get her hair done, urging them to “take [their] time.” She also claimed that her baby was in daycare, so the hairstylist had no reason to be alarmed or suspicious.

Yeah, no kidding. Who would think that someone would just leave a one-year-old by themselves in a car for hours on end?

DiJanelle had traveled to the area of the horrific incident from her home in South Carolina and told people that she was in town for a job interview. Hm.
Oddly enough, previous reports state that the 25-year-old woman was super “picky” when it came to choosing potential babysitters for her little one. How strange is that? Super, right?

Surveillance footage showed her returning to her car at 4 PM before getting a man at the salon’s help to restart her car. She neglected to notify police at the time.

DiJanelle had her hair appointment at the Northlake Tower Festival Shopping Center at around 10:06 AM on June 15, which means that her daughter was likely left in the car, unattended, for hours and hours. Poor girl.

An arrest warrant notes that baby Skylar was found dead in an Emory University Hospital parking deck just before 5 PM. Police said the baby’s mother had insisted that the girl had experienced a “seizure of some kind,” but while at the scene, they noticed Skylar was unresponsive in the back seat.

The medical examiner’s office felt that Skylar had been dead for “some period of time”, which led to the investigation of the various holes in DiJanelle’s timeline of events. She was later arrested, obviously.

Tragic all around.
