Now the 43-year-old rapper has just shelled out more than $3.5 million for his unpaid taxes.

In March of 2016, it was reported that Nas was hit with a $145,000 tax lien, bringing his grand total due to more than $6 million in unpaid taxes.

The rapper had been accused of not paying federal income taxes from 2006 through 2010. The feds said Nas owed $804,782 for 2006, $1,779,453 for 2007  and $615,600 from income he made in 2008. And in 2010, the IRS said he failed to pay $339,005, for a grand total of $3,538,900.

Nas reportedly paid the $3.5 million sum in December 2016 to settle most of the debt. However, Bossip reports the rapper still owes the state of Georgia nearly $426,000 stemming from his 2007 earnings, which includes "a nearly $60,000 penalty, more than $57,000 in interest and a nearly $71,000 collection fee."

The hip hop legend was originally hit with a lien by the Georgia Department of Revenue back in 2009 for failing to pay a total of $276,439.80 in unpaid state taxes for 2006. Nas didn't pay on the huge debt for almost a decade and the GDR started getting serious on collecting the money due.

The GDR actually ordered concert promoter Live Nation to garnish Nas' wages until the debt was paid off back in 2013. Nas had been on tour with Lauryn Hill.

The rapper previously addressed all the headlines about owing Uncle Sam and he truly offered no good excuse for not paying up.

Nas was asked if he wished he had been more business-minded in your career. Nas replied, "No, I don’t have any regrets. The way we live is no regrets. Everything is a learning experience and your mistakes, when you go back to look at them, are just moments of being human. Those are my reference points. So I go back to those points. And I love those points when I didn’t do well because that meant I was just a human."

Nas has an album finished as well as an upcoming show at Rolling Stone’s Big Game Bash in Houston for Super Bowl LI. Hopefully the money will keep rolling in and Nas will be able to get his debt problems settled for good.
