The Family of Joycelyn Savage Begs R. Kelly to Let Them Meet With Their Daughter — Watch

The parents of Joycelyn Savage, who believe R. Kelly is holding their daughter against her will in a 'sex cult', are pleading with him to allow them to see their daughter.

Savage's family held a press conference, where they asked the singer to allow them to speak to Joycelyn in person to make certain she is truly alright.

An attorney for the family stated, "You call your parents, you Facetime your parents, you have a conversation with them saying, 'mom, dad, I'm safe. I'm eating. Here's where I'm living. You guys can make contact with me, but I'm going to live my life. But I want you to know. I want my grandparents to know. I want my sisters to know. I'm fine.' You don't go on a video and say, 'I can't speak on that right now. I'm not going to answer these particular questions.' Those are the concerns any parent would have. And those are the concerns my clients have."

Joycelyn's family recently hired an attorney to assist them in having their daughter returned safe and sound. The 22-year-old aspiring singer went to live with Kelly at the age of 19, after meeting him backstage at a concert.

Her family is claiming they haven't seen her in nearly a year and are concerned about her health and safety.

Jocelyn addressed her parents in a video, stating, "I'm 21, I'm about to be 22 in a few days and I just mainly want to say that I am in a happy place with my life and I'm not being brainwashed or anything like that. It just came to a point where it definitely has got out of hand. I'm totally fine. I'm happy where I'm at and everything is OK with me."

The 21-year-old was asked if she was being held against her will and replied, "Oh no, nothing like that. I've never felt like a hostage or anything like that." She said of her parents' accusations, "I don't really know what's going on with that. I'm very heartbroken over what's going on with this situation because it's getting to a point where it's getting too much. It's just not right."

Savage insisted everything was fine but also refused to respond when she was asked if she was allowed to come and go from Kelly's home. She also refused to reveal if she is still at Kelly's house in Atlanta, Georgia.

Joycelyn's lawyer responded to her family's press conference, stating their “continued extreme, unnecessary actions, constitute harassment and are defamatory."

He adds that he believes the Savage family's allegations are all false and are just a weak attempt at "capitalizing" on their daughter for personal gain.
