Is Snapchat on its way out?

Rihanna may cause it to be. And we are totally with her.

Seriously, domestic violence isn’t a punchline. Or an appropriate “funny” angle for an ad.

Does…does this really need to be said?

Well, we hope someone is getting canned for this one…

Earlier this week, the app was forced to delete a controversial ad that joked about domestic violence.

"Would you rather slap Rihanna or punch Chris Brown?" it asked.

Obviously, the ad made reference to Rihanna and Chris Brown's 2009 domestic violence incident, which ultimately resulted in Chris pleading guilty to felony assault and making criminal threats.

"The advert was reviewed and approved in error, as it violates our advertising guidelines," a spokesperson for the app explained in a statement. "We immediately removed the ad last weekend, once we became aware. We are sorry that this happened."

A huh.

(According to the app's advertising policy, users are prohibited from posting any content “depicting excessive violence, including the harming of animals” also ads that are “shocking, sensational, or disrespectful…demean, degrade, or show hate toward a particular race, gender, culture, country, belief, or toward any member of a protected class” are forbidden.)

This didn’t cut it for RiRi. She popped onto Instagram to blast the app for the ad, accusing Snap of intentionally bringing shame to domestic violence victims.

Take a peek.

Good for her.

Although Breezy didn’t directly comment on the Snapchat controversy, his lawyer, Mark Geragos released a statement to US Weekly saying “They should change their name from Snapchat to Tone Deaf.”

Just last month, the Internet raised a collective eyebrow when Chris decided to wish his ex-girlfriend a happy birthday.

Chris once shed some light into their very dysfunctional dynamic.

"It just went downhill because it would be fights, it would be verbal fights, physical fights as well. Mutual sides, it is the first time I get to say anything."

"I still love Rihanna, but I'm just going to be honest - we would fight each other, she would hit me, I would hit her, but it never was OK. It was always a point to where we talk about it like, 'What the [expletive] are we doing?'"

"If I go on stage, I got a scratch on my face, and I've got to explain it, like "Oh I fell", or if you got a scar or a bruise, you got to put make up on. [Expletive], I'm not ever trying to put my hands on any female. I felt like a [expletive] monster."
The silver lining is that Chris has since grown into a measured, responsible, calm soul. Except he hasn’t really. Ring up Karrueche Tran if you need more details.
