An annual event since 1983, the McDonald's Gospelfest will move this summer to the Prudential Center in Newark. Tickets for the 3 p.m. June 14 show go on sale Monday at noon.
Gospelfest will feature performances by gospel stars such as Kirk Franklin, Donnie McClurkin, Hezekiah Walker, Cissy Houston, the Mighty Clouds of Joy, Byron Cage and Vickie Winans. Also, aspiring gospel performers will compete in the following categories: soloists, youth choir, adult choir, praise dance, step, Spanish language soloists, singing groups, gospel rappers and gospel poets.
