Are you flirting with death? Unless you have x-ray vision, how can you tell if someone has a STD such as herpes or HIV-Aides? We are living in a generation where looks are more important than substance. Where we want things fast instead of slow, let's have sex now and we will talk later. It doesn't matter if you are in the suburbs or in the ghetto, whether you are a white collar or blue collar worker, whether you are in church or in the club this happens to all of us. Where we see something or someone we want, and the last thing we do is take into consideration the idea that we could be flirting with death? Death of your marriage, Death of your families, Death of your relationship with God.
Each one is tempted
When he/she is drawn away by his own desires and enticed.
Then, when the desire has conceived,
It gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown
Brings forth death.
James 1:14
What sorrow awaits the world,
Because it tempts people to sin.
Temptations are inevitable,
But sorrow awaits the person who does the tempting.
Matthew 18:6
When Jesus was in the garden, He told, his disciples 'could you not watch with me for one hour, the spirit is indeed willing but the flesh is weak.' It's amazing that we don't have the ability to wait; we are always in a rush. Would we be in such a hurry if we knew that the next time might be our last time?
Maybe My Last Time, I don't Know
Our elders use to sing this song, 'this maybe my last time, I don't know.' This moment of pleasure could cost a life of pain. We reason within ourselves that we are only human, that I got away with it last time. Anita Baker wrote a song called, 'Sometimes,' and in this song it says, sometimes you win and sometimes you lose.' I wonder are we playing Russian-Roulette with our life. Many of us are saying, 'Lord what are we suppose to do, When something so wrong feels right.' Some not most married people are bored with their spouse in bed, singles are going from bed to bed, and those who are practicing celibacy might be masturbating. HOW DO YOU SPELL RELIEF?
You say, 'I am allowed to do anything' but not everything is good for you.
But you can't say our bodies were made for
Sexual immorality.
They were made for the Lord,
And the Lord cares about our bodies.
Run from sexual sin!
No other sin so clearly affects the body as this one does.
For sexual immorality is a sin against your own body.
! Corinthians 6:12-20
I'm Clean!
Just because you bathe and put on your best perfume or cologne, driving your nice car, with your nice clothes on, does not make you clean from a sexually transmitted disease.
In the bible Jesus called them a whitewashed tomb, you appear to be beautiful outwardly, but inside you are full of dead men bones and uncleanness. A white washed tomb is where they would take a piece of wood that was rotten and paint over it with white paint.
Why white paint, because it represents purity and cleanness. Jesus instructs us to clean the inside so that the outside maybe cleansed also.
Oral Exam
People are now having oral sex like it's a sale on candy. All different flavors and sizes, 'just taste the rainbow." Did you know that you can contract Herpes just from kissing someone who is carrying the disease, according to the Nemours Foundation. The tricky thing about herpes is that the signs are not always visible. Herpes is often dormant, and a person can pass it along without ever showing any signs of having it. STDs can be transmitted through all types of sex, including oral sex. So, although mouth-to-mouth kissing can only pass herpes, mouth-to-genital contact can spread many STDs, including HIV.
It is actually reported that there is
Sexual immorality among you,
And you are puffed up, and not have not rather mourned,
That he who has done this deed might be taken
Away from among you.
1 Corinthians 5:1
Maybe you're reading this article and saying things about people who are in this situation, but I want to remind you, that this was you back in the day or maybe even still today, just in another form. And if it had not been for the Lord where would you be today. We can not bless God and curse our brothers and sisters. We all need to pray for one another. The devil is out to destroy us, this could be your child, your family member or loved ones.
Are You Burning?
When we were little children they would tell us to stay away from the oven because you might get burn. Or if you were a toddler and you go to touch something that would burn you they would say, "Hot!"
Can a man take fire to his bosom,
And his clothes not be burned?
Can one walk on hot coals,
And his feet not be seared?
It's time for us to grow up and make a sound decision that we are not going to continue to flirt with death? Father, in the name of Jesus, I am burning with lust, I keep touching things that are to hot for me too handle. I keep finding myself in places and situations that I know are not good for me. God, how could something so wrong feel so right, only you have the answer. Show us how to live this life, how do we walk this walk. We need you like never before. Cleanse us, and make us whole. The things that I use to do I don't want to do anymore. I repent for I have sinned against you and my body.
Remember this: As I was writing this article, Jesus said to me "Why should you die for your sins, when I have already died on the cross for them."
